snickerdoodle cookies by nyt cooking
My husband and I were in the middle of a 1,000 piece puzzle as we watched the super bowl and I just had to have cookies. By that I mean, my late night frustration was high and cookies would sooth my soul.
There are tons of cookies out there that require you to chill for the flavors to meld. Snickerdoodles are not those cookies. Combine the ingredients, bake, and enjoy in under 30 minutes!
ingredients
1 ½ cups/180 grams all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon kosher salt
10 tablespoons/140 grams unsalted butter (1 1/4 sticks), at room temperature
¾ cup/150 grams granulated sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
1 large egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Would I make these again?
Yes. Actually, I am in the mood for cookies now that I write these. And cookies in 30 minutes… I’ll be right back.
